Boys Varsity Lacrosse Charity Fundraiser

Portledge School’s Boys Varsity Lacrosse team kicked off their home opener on Wednesday, April 9th, with a great matchup against St. Dominic's High School. More than just a game, this home opener doubled as a charity event supporting the Diane Fund, an organization founded at Portledge that supports individuals and families battling cancer. In 2014, Diane Lohan was diagnosed with brain cancer, fighting the illness until she passed away the following year. This fight inspired the creation of the Diane Fund, a charitable organization that promotes empathy and passion by financially supporting families struggling with cancer. During the lacrosse game, all proceeds earned from selling food and drinks went to families battling cancer. The event was full of great energy and school spirit, and was a memorable start to the Boys Varsity Lacrosse season. The game ended with a close score of 11-12, with Portledge just being edged out by Saint Dominic's. Our lacrosse team showcased excellent skills that promise future success in the season. Wilder Finkel scored seven goals, with Nate Bahnik chipping in three and James Godsell adding one. With a strong performance on and off the field, the boys lacrosse team set the tone for a great year of spring sports. Go Panthers!
